|  Flemington is one of Melbourne's north western Suburbs, 6 km north-west from Melbourne.
Once upon a time Flemington was part of the City of Essendon (1861). Flemington and Kensington formed their own municipalities in Eighteen eighty two and became "the Borough of Flemington" and Kensington. Early in the twentieth century they were taken over by the City of Melbourne.
The City of Moonee Valley was created in 1994 and at that time most of Kensington & Flemington were part of the City of Moonee Valley.
Parts of Flemington and Kensington still belong to the City of Melbourne.
